And here we are. Back to the top, exactly where we belong.
Okay wait, let me clear the confusion that I, myself have created. I, Joshua Miranda, the author of this blog am probably the biggest and most loyal Laker fan you'll ever find. Like literally. Today's blog post will be a bit different because today I am going to put more feelings into words than facts.
Living in India, basketball was not a real well known sport. We knew it existed and some knew how to play but the NBA was still a very less known commodity. I started playing basketball because I literally lived right next to, probably the best basketball court that available. I promise, I'm not going to deep dive into my life but the point of me narrating my life story is that the first time I seen NBA footage was an NBA top 10 plays of the night on YouTube or something like that. And the only play that actually caught my eye was an ally oop pass from out of bounds. I think it was from Kobe to Earl Clark, and I was like OH DAMM.
Let me mention an other thing. That was 2013. Yup, I became a Laker fan when their decline began. YIKES. But I have been through it. I bled purple and gold when no one else would, when we had players like Sacre and Huertas and Kaman and Hill and so many more. I still have nightmares about it. But this season, on court, has been a gift. The Anthony Davis and Lebron James duo is so beautiful and fun to watch. Losing Kobe was probably the most I have ever hurted but the fact that the Lakers are still striving and clinched the number 1 seed in the west, I know that would make Kobe proud.
The Lakers haven't had the most merry time in the bubble which has began to grow the seeds of doubts in people's minds. They " barely " beat the Clippers who weren't at full strength and they got outclassed by the raptors. Both fair, but not what this 8 regular season games are for the Lakers, we all know this is a time for Frank to set up his rotations and see what his game plan will be for the playoffs and really nothing else. There is not point of getting the first seed this except for pride and bragging rights, maybe even for the playoff bracket but because of the situation we're in no one gets home court advantage or any advantage at all.
So, for now, I will take all the positives from these games and enjoy them and hope the negatives get tuned out before the actual fun begins. See y'all in the Playoffs.
