I have found it so hard to find stuff interesting enough for me to cover. There is no drama, no controversy, nothing that is not political that I feel the need to take interest over. Even the meme platform is pretty dead. Sports is booming but I'm not BR or ESPN who report only news segments, I want to flex my creativity on this platform, hence this series. I have tried my best to write my pieces with a lot of factual content and less emotions and opinions involved but in this series you will get an opportunity to know me as a person and I promise to always " keep it a hundred " with you all.
This series in essence, is an expansion of idea based concept but a little bit more deeper than needed. Maybe you are one looking for a motto to live by or maybe you are a student who is trying to complete their English assignment, don't worry, we cater to all audiences. The proverb for today is something my dad says he lives by and I can see why. He was always in very difficult situations but the pressure of the situation and the expectations he kept for himself, helped him rise from that situation and ensure that his children would never have to see the days he saw.
Necessity is the mother of invention
A phrase which is synonymous with another phrase, slightly more well known " Where there is a will there is a way." Its interpretation in an understandable context is when there is a urgency or demand for something, it causes a need to create an 'invention' or a solution to fulfill said demand.
Its example in the case of current times would be: The Covid-19 virus, which has caused a global pandemic and has brought the world to its knees created an unfamiliar situation. There were immediate provisions set in place to try to contain it but nothing huge or long term. This created a "NECESSITY" to find or create a virus which would solve said crisis. Major funds been allocated to different researching facilities to find a cure, which would have not been given unless we were in this situation or in more clear sense, until we needed it. It also created a need to adjust with times and made people learn to social distance and use resources carefully and show more empathy to the world which many people have only learned and put into practice recently.
A more proverbial way to explain it would be, if you're in a room, and your objective is to leave said room, you would try to think smart and weigh out your options on how to leave which could lead to a lot of overthinking and over contemplating and might lead you to procrastinate or even give up. However, imagine the walls of your room start closing in, now you're in a situation which is pressuring you to find a way out quick. Now there is a need for you to find a solution, even quicker than before. In nature, pearls are formed from the pressure, and this proverb, though not about the pressure of the situation but is about how you would overcome the situation.
The story of the " The thirsty crow " teaches us how when a problem is created, so are multiple solutions. However, the ability to find the solution depends on the extent of how much you want/need it.
There is no true author of this exact phrase but it has come to be from a series of translations that has brought it to where it is today. Plato, a man considered as a crucial figure Greek and Western philosophy stated in 'Republic', which is a Socratic dialogue authored by Plato, that " Our need will be the real creator."
When man needed to eat he started to hunt, when he needed to keep safe and warm and cook his food he found fire, when he needed a place to rest at night he made houses. A constant need for things helped man create the world we live in today. Religions survive on the need of faith and belief, relationships on the need of love and reassurance, materialistic items on the need of repair and maintenance, education in the need of learning and what not.
In our own life, we are pushed, troubled, placed in situations which force us to barely survive. The need for these basic things makes us want to go out and achieve them. In a mental aspect one is cornered with his expectations and aspirations and has to find a way to strive. The pressure of the need for something can cause failure but the ability to succeed from that situation makes it that much more sweeter.
