IS EDUCATION IN INDIA GOOD?

I get this could be a controversial topic but its a topic I want to give attention and hopefully get attention to. For context I am a student studying in Mumbai under the State Board and I have just completed my admission for FYBA in Journalism and Mass Communication.

So let's get into dissecting this question. What does one think education or being educated mean?

John Comenius was a Czech philosopher who is considered as the father of modern education. He led schools and advised governments across Protestant Europe through the middle of the seventeenth century. It wouldn't take a genius to realize that he knows his stuff, especially in this field. He says ''All who are born as human beings need education because they are destined to be real men, not wild beasts all animals and clumps of words." Funnily enough, in India it is known to excel in state board level education you need to " BE A PARROT ". An animal only known for their characteristic of being able to retain information and reproduce it without having no idea as to what it means. Totally going completely against the definition of the word.

The thing with some words is that they could have varied meanings, and in my opinion education to some extent could be that word. Education to some means the ability to differentiate between the right and wrong. To some it means having the ability to be self reliant or a tool to change the world. Or according to leading educational institutes in India, the ability to be able to byheart every book you've ever read and even the ones you haven't, doesn't matter you have to know everything byheart and word to word.

BLASPHEMOUS

This is something I truly can't or will ever be able to comprehend. In this context an individual whose profession depends on memorizing would be smarter than the one who wrote said script and showcased his creativity and imagination in words. Saying it out loud shows how idiotic it sounds.

Like everything I seem to have an issue with, there seems to be attempt to try and make the state boards more towards true education which would ensure that students don't begin their year slacking of to students from other boards and also ensure the people who work hard on understanding material rather than an individual who can go through the year without having any idea in the world what is going on.

I don't like to complain about things often but sometimes things like these need to change and have attention brought to it. I might have an extremely small platform but in the field I want to pursue this could be a start.

Also a little note, unrelated but I got into Wilson College and I am extremely relived because I actually needed a miracle to pull that off. So I'd like to thank them for the opportunity and it is now my time to bring my A game.
