All for the Sake of Content

'Entertainment', is an industry that could never go extinct as the demand is ever growing. There has been attempts to satisfy this thirst with audio and video content ie. movies and music. But with time even they have had to evolve. Modern-day visual content is what we see on social media via influencer content creation. People have dubbed these creators as undeserving of the fame and platform they possess, but do they see the work that goes into this?

In my opinion, any person or entity that has reached a point of fame, not infamy, but fame cannot get there on a whim of luck. There is luck involved but more of a risk to put themselves out there on a stage that could reject you with no real reasoning. To break out of that, one needs an extremely creative mind and consistency that cannot be faked. All for the sake of content.

For a creator like Mr. Beast, every video he puts out originated from one boy sitting in his room repeating a word hundreds of thousands of times for the sake of content. Belle Delphine, a controversial star, known for being an OnlyFans model who sold her bath water, took some genuine creativity to come up with something so bizarre and outlandish which has most likely created a rift between her family and her. Again, all in the name of content. We've seen creators like KSI and Anesongib lose a ton of weight and get in peak condition only to risk themselves in a boxing ring for the sake of content. Even Instagram reelers or TikTokers are forced to post almost 50-60 reels per month just to stay relevant and boost their followers, a task that may sound easy, but difficult if one wants to stand out. All for the sake of content.

A common theme in everything I mentioned was 'risk' and 'for the sake of content'. Prior to the social media age, this is a thing we'd see in modeling and acting. Where models would go anorexic to make the front page and actors would dive so much into character that they would lose a piece of themselves daily. All for the sake of content.

Content creators work on themselves by organizing their life in a way a common person just cannot. They are forced to find a balance between real and reel life whilst always being on the hunt for content. Most times they pick up skills like dancing, better vocal skills, presentation, and editing to take their content one step above. And visually, 'jo dikhta hai woh bikta hai'. As they are their own brand, they have to look premium. They work on their appearance, hair, makeup, teeth, and smiles and even deal with not going too far in altering appearance by making decisions that cannot be reversed. All for the sake of content.

Thus, my thing to take away from this would be, to help change the mindset of people downplaying creators who have achieved fame and success, no matter how they got there. Work is work and life is not one that is just filled with luck for anyone. Luck plays a part, but hard work trumps it all. Every content creator you see has climbed decade-long ladders of hard work that you haven't seen. And yet they accept criticism from an individual never been in their shoes. Why?

All for the sake of content.
